Toulouse, France — 28 November 2025: Airbus has issued a safety alert after investigations revealed that intense solar radiation may corrupt data essential to the operation of flight control systems on certain A320 Family aircraft . According to the manufacturer, a significant number of in-service A320 Family jets could be affected by this vulnerability. Airbus has coordinated with global aviation regulators to initiate precautionary measures. The company has released an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) instructing airlines to immediately apply available software and hardware protections. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is expected to formalize these steps through an Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD).
