The incident occurred at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) as the aircraft was accelerating on runway 09R. According to preliminary reports from unofficial sources, the crew rejected the takeoff at high speed—approximately 150 knots (about 277 km/h)—after detecting a problem with the nose wheels. The aircraft came to a controlled stop on the runway before safely vacating onto a parallel taxiway. Lufthansa confirmed that the aircraft, registered D-ABPD, experienced multiple tire deflations due to the heavy braking involved in the rejected takeoff.
