The incident involved a single-engine Tecnam P2008, which was En-route from Linden Airport, NJ (LDJ) to White Plains-Westchester County Airport (HPN) when it experienced engine failure during its approach. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the pilot of the aircraft, registered N298PM, reported engine issues before crashing onto the guardrail of Interstate 684 near Exit 2, a few miles south of the airport. Private Aircraft Accident at Macon County Airport, Franklin, NC

Franklin, NC (November 28, 2024) – A Beechcraft B300 King Air 350, operated by Barrel King LLC, veered off the runway while landing at Macon County Airport (1A5) around 10:19 a.m. local time. The incident occurred during a landing attempt on Runway 7 and resulted in the aircraft coming to rest on the taxiway. The pilot, the sole occupant of the aircraft, escaped unharmed. There were no other injuries reported. However, the aircraft sustained substantial damage, including significant nose damage caused by at least two propeller blades penetrating the fuselage from both sides. Weather Conditions Weather reports from the time of the incident indicate gusty winds, which may have contributed to the mishap.
