BREAKING: Air India Boeing 787 Crashes Near Ahmedabad – 246 Feared Dead

Ahmedabad, India – Thursday, June 12, 2025 | 13:40 LT Tragedy struck in Ahmedabad today when Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD). The flight was En route to London-Gatwick Airport (LGW). According to early reports, 241 of the 242 people onboard are feared dead, with one survivor critically injured. The crash also claimed the lives of at least five people on the ground, bringing the total fatality count to 246. The aircraft, registered VT-ANB, took off from runway 23 and remained airborne for approximately 30 seconds. Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Aborts Takeoff at Hyderabad Airport Due to Nose Gear Issue

Hyderabad, India – 21 May 2025, 03:14 LT — A Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operating flight LH-753 from Hyderabad to Frankfurt was forced to abort its takeoff early Wednesday morning due to an issue with its nose landing gear. The incident occurred at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) as the aircraft was accelerating on runway 09R. According to preliminary reports from unofficial sources, the crew rejected the takeoff at high speed—approximately 150 knots (about 277 km/h)—after detecting a problem with the nose wheels. The aircraft came to a controlled stop on the runway before safely vacating onto a parallel taxiway. Lufthansa confirmed that the aircraft, registered D-ABPD, experienced multiple tire deflations due to the heavy braking involved in the rejected takeoff.
