Franklin, NC  – September 18, 2025 – A Cirrus SR22T GTS G5 Carbon (N218VB)  crashed during an attempted landing at Macon County Airport (1A5)  in Franklin, North Carolina, resulting in the deaths of all three occupants. The aircraft had departed from Nashville-John C. Tune Airport (KJWN)  earlier that day. ADS-B tracking shows the aircraft attempted a go-around on Runway 7, followed by a second approach. During the sequence, the airplane impacted terrain approximately 500 feet north of the runway  and came to rest upright in an open field. Authorities reported that the wreckage remained intact with no debris field  leading to the main site, and no post-crash fire occurred. Local emergency services responded promptly, and the NTSB  has taken charge of the investigation.
