Pilot Killed in Cessna Citation Crash Near Mesquite Metro Airport

Mesquite, Texas — A Cessna 525A Citation CJ2+ jet crashed shortly after takeoff from Mesquite Metro Airport on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of the sole pilot on board. The aircraft departed runway 18 at approximately 7:33 a.m. local time. After lifting off, it executed a right turn and climbed to about 950 feet before entering a rapid descent. The final recorded data indicated a groundspeed of 196 knots with a descent rate of 2,750 feet per minute. The crash occurred in a wooded area near East Cartwright and Lawson roads, about a mile from the airport. Emergency responders extinguished small fires at the scene. Learjet 35A Crashes at Scottsdale Airport, One Fatality Reported

Scottsdale, AZ – February 10, 2025 – A Learjet 35A, registered as N81VN and operated by Chromed in Hollywood Inc., was involved in an accident at Scottsdale Airport (SCF) at approximately 14:38 local time. Tragedy Strikes Training Flight Near HNL On Tuesday, December 17, 2024 , a Kamaka Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (N689KA) tragically crashed shortly after takeoff from runway 4L at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), Honolulu, Hawaii. The accident claimed the lives of both pilots onboard and destroyed the aircraft.
