The flight was En route to London-Gatwick Airport (LGW). According to early reports, 241 of the 242 people onboard are feared dead, with one survivor critically injured. The crash also claimed the lives of at least five people on the ground, bringing the total fatality count to 246. The aircraft, registered VT-ANB, took off from runway 23 and remained airborne for approximately 30 seconds. Instructor and a student pilot tragically lost their lives in the accident


A Cessna 152, operated by Alchemist Aviation Pvt Ltd with registration VT-TAJ, crashed under unknown circumstances near the Chandil Dam, approximately 25 km northwest of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, around 11:10 AM local time.

The aircraft was on a training flight and had taken off from Jamshedpur-Sonari Airport. Unfortunately, both occupants—an instructor and a student pilot—tragically lost their lives in the accident, and the aircraft was completely destroyed.
