EH216-S Pilotless eVTOL Completes First Flight in Brazil

The event marks a major step toward revolutionizing air mobility in one of the world's largest eVTOL markets.

GUANGZHOU, China, September 24, 2024 — EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a global leader in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology, has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of the first flight of its EH216-S pilotless eVTOL in Brazil.

The inaugural flight took place in Quadra, São Paulo, in partnership with local operator Gohobby Future Technologies. This achievement not only underscores the growing demand for UAM solutions in Brazil but also highlights the country's historical importance in aviation. Brazil, home to one of the world’s leading aeronautical industries, offers immense potential for the adoption of eco-friendly and efficient eVTOL technology.

In support of these advancements, Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) recently granted the Experimental Flight Authorization Certificate (CAVE) to EHang's EH216-S. This certification allows for trial operations in collaboration with ANAC and the Brazilian Airspace Control Department (DECEA), paving the way for the development of Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management (UTM) systems and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) to ensure safe and seamless UAM deployment in Brazil.

Victoria Xiang, Chief Operating Officer of EHang Europe and Latin America, commented on the historic flight:

"We are delighted to have commenced EH216-S pilotless eVTOL flights in Brazil. This is a significant milestone in EHang’s mission to develop advanced air mobility solutions worldwide. The ongoing test campaigns will provide invaluable data and operational experience to help us build a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly UAM ecosystem in Brazil and beyond."

With over 50,000 safe flights across 17 countries, EHang continues to push the boundaries of autonomous air mobility. This successful trial in Brazil signals the next phase in the country’s UAM journey, with exciting possibilities for passenger transportation, smart city management, and aerial logistics.
