Gulfstream Announces More than 100 G700 Pilots Type Rated 2024

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. proudly announced that over 100 customer pilots have successfully earned their type rating for the highly anticipated Gulfstream G700, a significant achievement that reflects the aircraft’s readiness for service.

This milestone comes after the G700 received its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification on March 29, 2024.

Since the certification, pilots from around the globe have flocked to Savannah’s FlightSafety International training center to complete their type rating for the G700. In addition to the 100 customer pilots, the training program has also certified 80 Gulfstream corporate pilots and over 20 FlightSafety International instructors, further demonstrating the maturity and reliability of the G700 program.

“Pilots are coming to Savannah from around the world to earn their G700 type rating as aircraft deliveries increase,” said Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream. “Thanks to the innovative and intuitive Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck and the maturity of the G700 program, the ease with which customers are taking delivery is impressive.”

The G700 is equipped with Gulfstream’s award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck, which includes active control sidesticks and the most extensive use of touch-screen technology in the industry. Paired with Phase-of-Flight intelligence, the flight deck reduces pilot workload and flight start-up time, enhancing operational efficiency.

It also features Gulfstream’s new Combined Vision System (CVS), which integrates the Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) into a single on-screen image, improving situational awareness and increasing access to more airports worldwide. Additionally, the G700’s Predictive Landing Performance System, which has also received accolades, further enhances safety during landings.

The G700 has received type certifications from both the FAA and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and it has secured type certificate validations in nine nations, including the recent approval by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority.

With these milestones, the G700 is well on its way to becoming a cornerstone of Gulfstream’s fleet, setting new standards for performance, safety, and technological advancement in business aviation.
