The flight was En route to London-Gatwick Airport (LGW). According to early reports, 241 of the 242 people onboard are feared dead, with one survivor critically injured. The crash also claimed the lives of at least five people on the ground, bringing the total fatality count to 246. The aircraft, registered VT-ANB, took off from runway 23 and remained airborne for approximately 30 seconds. Cebu Pacific Finalizes Order for 70 Airbus A321neo Aircraft

Manila, 2 October 2024 – Cebu Pacific has officially confirmed its firm order for 70 Airbus A321neo aircraft, finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from July.

The agreement was signed in Manila by Cebu Pacific CEO, Mike Szucs, and Airbus EVP Sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry.

The A321neo, known for its fuel efficiency and extended range, will help Cebu Pacific expand its routes and reduce its environmental footprint. This order underscores the airline's commitment to growth and sustainability in the competitive aviation market.

Mike Szucs emphasized the airline’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational efficiency, aiming to deliver top-tier service while reducing carbon emissions. Cebu Pacific currently operates a fleet of 61 A320 Family aircraft and nine A330s, with a backlog of 94 A320neo Family jets and seven A330neo widebodies. The A321neo, with its enhanced efficiency, is a key part of this future fleet growth.
